    • 3, 5, 6, 8, 9 (only read the text and say the type of migration represented).
  • According to the data, calculate the crude birth rate, the crude death rate, the rate of the natural increase, the infant mortality rate and the actual increase of the population. Then, say if the data corresponds to a more o less developed country.
    • Total population: 46.450.000.
    • Number of births: 369.000.
    • Number of deaths: 420.000.
    • Number of deaths of infants under 1 year: 2.000.
    • Number of inmigrants: 350.000
    • Number of emigrants: 120.000

CONSEQUENCES OF MIGRATION

As you know, nowadays many people decide to migrate to have a better life. Employment opportunities are one of the most common reason due to which people migrate. 

Although there are different points of view about the consequences of the migratory movements, we can point out some advantages and disadvantages: 
  • One possible advantage could be, in the host country, that the pension gap can be filled by the contributions of new young workers and they also pay taxes.
  • On the other hand, taking into account one negative effect, the increases in population can put pressure on public services.

POSIBLES DEFINICIONES DESARROLLO SOSTENIBLE

  • Concepto que hace referencia al desarrollo que satisface las necesidades del presente sin comprometer la capacidad de las futuras generaciones, garantizando el equilibrio entre el crecimiento económico de un país, el cuidado del medio ambiente y el bienestar social. De esta definición se pueden extraer los tres componentes básicos del desarrollo sostenible: crecimiento económico, cuidado al medio ambiente y bienestar social.
  • Podemos definir el desarrollo sostenible como la satisfacción de las necesidades de la generación presente sin comprometer la capacidad de las generaciones futuras para satisfacer sus propias necesidades. Lo que se pretende mediante la puesta en práctica de este término es el equilibrio entre el crecimiento económico de un país, cuidando el medio ambiente, garantizado así el bienestar social.
  • Es un término relacionado con satisfacer las necesidades básicas de una población mundial evitando la destrucción del medio ambiente. Se debe compatibilizar el desarrollo económico y social con la protección del medio ambiente.
